Orthodontic retainers are custom-made devices that keep your teeth in their new, straight positions after braces or aligner treatment. They help prevent your teeth from shifting back over time. Retainers can be removable (like clear or wire retainers) or fixed (a thin wire bonded behind the teeth). Wearing your retainer as instructed is the key to protecting your smile for the long term.
